JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading research on translational projects focused on small molecule drug combinations and understanding MoA. Generate robust datasets that will have a direct impact on our oncology drug discovery process and drug pipeline.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, conduct, and analyze both in vitro and in vivo experiments to assess the efficacy and mechanism of action of our oncology drug candidates.
- Independently execute experiments, analyze data, summarize results into clear and concise presentations, and communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure timely generation and dissemination of critical data and contribute to scientific publication goals.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant technical and scientific expertise in tumor biology, pharmacology, and cancer modeling.
- Mentor junior scientists in both in vivo and in vitro studies.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- PhD. with 2-5 (BS/MS with 10+) years of research experience in cancer biology or pharmacology.
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not essential.
- Proficient with a range of in vitro cellular/molecular biology techniques, e.g. cell culture, viability and growth assays (CTG and Incucyte), qPCR, RNAi, immunoblotting, MSD, ELISA, flow cytometry, cell cycle analysis, and IHC/microscopy.
- Experience working with mouse tumor models (CDX, PDX, syngeneic, and genetically engineered mouse models) and designing/executing in vivo pharmacology studies, such as dose-finding, tolerability, PK/PD, and efficacy studies.
- Experience with basic in vivo skills: mouse handling, tumor inoculation, dosing (IV, PO, SC, IP), tumor volume measurement, blood and tissue collection, necropsy.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with CROs to manage outsourced studies.
- Ability to drive, manage, execute and deliver results for complex multi-functional projects.
- A proven track record of high productivity and scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a goal and team-oriented setting.
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
