Senior Research Associate, Discovery Biology W2 Contract Salary Range: $104,000 - $114,400 per year Location: Redwood City, CA - Onsite Role Job Summary: As a Senior Research Associate, you will join a high-functioning team of chemical biologists, biochemists, and cell biologists to help identify new molecules of interest, characterize compounds with novel mechanisms of action, and identify new potential targets. You will contribute to our discovery pipeline from the bench by taking responsibility for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting new biochemical and cellular assays. We seek an open-minded and enthusiastic team player who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating cross-functionally to develop novel therapeutics. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop and conduct mechanistic biochemical assays to characterize novel hit compounds. * Design and develop novel cellular assays using common cell engineering techniques such as transient transfection, viral transduction, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. * Maintain detailed and organized records of protocols and experimental results. * Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members to advance projects. * Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data in team meetings. Requirements and Qualifications: * BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline * Strong understanding of protein biochemistry with hands-on experience performing biochemical and biophysical assays * Experience in microplate-based assay systems and operation of plate readers or microscopes. * Familiarity with data processing and visualization tools for data analysis (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Genedata Screener, R, etc.) Preferred Skills: * Knowledge of biochemical and biophysical techniques such as surface plasmon resonance, isothermal titration calorimetry, fluorescence polarization, and differential scanning fluorimetry * Familiarity with cellular and biochemical readouts, including immunofluorescence, luminescence, cell viability, FRET, ELISA, MSD, and flow cytometry * Experience with mammalian cell culture Desired Skills and Experience Discovery Biology, biochemical/biophysical assays, cellular assays, transient transfection, viral transduction, CRISPR, Cas9, GraphPad Prism, Genedata Screener, R, FRET, ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry Bayside Solutions, Inc. may collect your personal information during the position application process.
